My View
I began this project while searching for landscapes in northern Iran. At first, I was drawn to the beauty of the scenery, but as I looked more closely, polluted water, waste, and the visible impact of human presence revealed a very different reality.
That first encounter stayed with me. Over the following years, I began searching for and photographing similar places, many of them waste disposal sites located close to towns, rivers, and natural landscapes. What interested me most was the contradiction between distance and proximity: how something could appear beautiful from afar, while a closer look revealed what had been hidden, ignored, or left behind.
The project gradually became a way of looking at the traces we leave on the environment through waste, consumption, neglect, and the way we relate to nature. My View is my attempt to document what I saw and to draw attention to landscapes that are often transformed quietly, just beyond our everyday view. In the end, it made me think about the things we choose to ignore, bury, or leave behind, and how they can quietly change what we eventually see.
